Temps of their 30s this weekend – CBS Miami

MIAMI (CBSMiami) — Arctic air is pouring into southern Florida this weekend behind a strong cold front that will arrive early Saturday morning.

Before the cold snap hits, South Florida will be in warm and muggy conditions Thursday night and Friday with a high of nearly 80 degrees.

Winds are forecast to pick up Friday night along with cloud formation and a chance of overnight showers Friday through Saturday morning.

The strong cold front will arrive on Saturday morning, so expect clouds to gradually clear as the day progresses. At the same time, a fresh north wind will continuously push the cold air south to our area and this

will keep temperatures very cool for Saturday afternoon.

Saturday’s high will be at least 15 degrees colder than average. For Miami, the forecast high is 60 degrees, while inland cities will struggle to get out of the 50s.

Saturday night and Sunday morning will be the coldest, with lows falling to 40 degrees in Miami and potentially in the top 30 degrees inland.

The last time Miami dropped to a low of 40 degrees was in 2020 on January 22nd. If Miami hits a bottom in the upper 30s, the last time it did was over a decade ago on January 11, 2010.

South Florida should be prepared for wind chill levels to drop into the low 30s and high 20s across South Florida.

More sunshine is expected on Sunday afternoon but it will remain cool with highs in the upper 50’s and low 60’s.

Monday morning will be cold mornings with lows in the upper 40’s but the highs are beginning to recover but are still cool for Monday afternoon with highs reaching the upper 60’s.

Temperatures will return to the mid-70s by Tuesday afternoon, then showers will return by Wednesday.
